Cookie Policy

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before contracting our services.

What are cookies and why do we use them?

Cookies and other similar technologies such as local shared objects, flash cookies, or pixels are files or small text files that some platforms, like web pages, may install on a user’s device (computer, tablet, smartphone, etc.) when accessing certain web pages, in order to store and retrieve information about the user’s browsing activity from that device. They may also consist of a code that allows for the unique identification of the user during their browsing. Therefore, cookies can store information about the user’s device or their browsing sessions of the websites they’ve visited, such as the page visited, connection time, and other data depending on the type of cookie.

The use of cookies while browsing web pages allows:

    Obtain information about user navigation.
    Enhance the user's browsing experience.
Collect usage statistics of the website by the user.
Other information like the browser used by the user.
    Number of pages visited.
    Number of visits.
Track the movements the user makes through a website.
Time spent on the website or on a specific page.
Filling or emptying the shopping cart (and other information related to online sales).
Determine the user’s location via device geolocation (information about the region and potentially, local data in some countries).
Measure the effectiveness of email campaigns.
Improve service features for specific user segments and subscribers of electronic commercial advertising communications and newsletters.
Determine if recipients of electronic commercial advertising communications and newsletters have opened them.
    Create reports tracking campaign performance.

Their functions can be very varied: storing your browsing preferences, collecting statistical information, enabling certain technical features, etc.

Sometimes, cookies are used to store basic information about the user’s browsing habits or their device, to the extent, in some cases, of being able to recognize them.

Cookies are useful for several reasons. From a technical standpoint, they allow websites to operate more smoothly and be tailored to your preferences, such as storing your language or currency.

Additionally, they help website administrators improve their services by providing statistical information through them.

Finally, they are used to make advertising more efficient, which could – if applicable – offer services for free.

Cookies Affected by the Regulation and Exempted Cookies

With the amendment of the “Law on Information Society Services” (LSSICE) established by Royal Decree 13/2012, it is mandatory to obtain the explicit consent of users for all websites using non-essential cookies, before they browse them. The cookies that require informed consent from the user are the analytical and advertising/affiliate cookies, while those that are strictly necessary for the operation of the website or the provision of services explicitly requested by the user are exempt.

Cookies that are exempt from the obligation to inform and obtain consent are those that are strictly necessary for the provision of a service explicitly requested by the user or those that are solely necessary to allow communication between the user’s device and the network, such as: session cookies, user login cookies, user security cookies, multimedia player session cookies, load balancing session cookies, certain technical cookies, customization cookies, and certain plugin cookies.

What types of Cookies exist?

There are different types of cookies.

First, we can differentiate between:

  1. Own cookies: Owned and managed by the website owner.
  2. Third-party cookies: Owned and managed by third parties, unrelated to the website owner.

Cookies can be “session” cookies, meaning they are deleted once the user leaves the website that generated them, or “persistent” cookies, which remain on the user’s device for a programmed period, which can be up to several years.

Additionally, cookies can be classified based on their purpose:

  1. Technical and functional cookies: These are strictly necessary for using the site and for providing the service. Strictly necessary cookies must always be enabled so that we can store your cookie settings preferences. If you disable these cookies, we cannot store your preferences. This means that each time you visit this website, you will have to enable or disable cookies again.

  2. Analytical cookies: We use analytical cookies to help us understand how users use our website. For example, they help us count the number of different users visiting our site or using a specific feature, rather than counting the total number of times the site or feature is used. Without these cookies, if you visit the website once a week for three weeks, we would count you as three separate users. Without these cookies, it would be difficult to analyze the performance of our site and improve it.

  3. Performance cookies: These cookies remember your preferences for tools available on the services, so you don’t have to configure the service every time you visit. For example, this category includes: Volume settings on video or sound players, Video streaming speeds compatible with your browser. Geo-location cookies: These cookies are used to determine where you are when requesting a service. This cookie is completely anonymous and is only used to help target content to your location.

  4. Registration cookies: These cookies are generated once the user has registered or logged in, and they are used to identify the user within the services for the following purposes: Keep the user logged in, so that if they close the service, browser, or computer, and later return to the service, they will remain logged in, making navigation easier without having to log in again. This functionality can be removed by the user pressing the “log out” functionality, so that the cookie is deleted and the next time the user enters the service, they will have to log in to be identified. Check if the user is authorized to access certain services, such as participating in a contest.

  5. Personalization cookies: These allow the user to configure the design, language, preferences, etc., of their browser. Behavioral and advertising cookies: These are used to efficiently manage the advertising spaces included on a website or application from which the service is provided. They are useful for tailoring the advertising offered to users’ interests, as they collect information about their preferences. These are used in marketing techniques such as retargeting.

  6. Affiliate cookies: These track visits from websites with which the site has an affiliation contract. Social interaction cookies: These cookies allow you to share content directly on social networks like Facebook, Google+, etc. An example would be when you click “like” or “tweet” about a business or product advertised on our website.
